How do you keep a baby cool (but not too cold) during the summer?
My husband and I don't run the air conditioning unless its over 85. We don't mind the heat, so we just keep windows open and have fans on BUT now that we have a 6 month old... we don't know if this is ok. Is the cool breeze too cold for him... will the fans bother him? Especially at night. We love the cool breeze and we snuggle under our comforter, but what about the baby? He might have rolled over during the night and doesn't have any blanket on him...
Any suggestions? Good advice about what to do or not to do?
PS - First baby and he is 6 months old
Well despite the believe of some nervous first time parents. The general rule is: If it feels fine to you, it probably feels fine to your little one. There is no need to over or under dress your baby anymore than there is a need to do so for yourself. As far as what happens during the night, you can't know that anyway. "Luckily" (sometimes unluckily) you may still be waking during the night for feedings and midnight changings. Therefore, not too much time should have passed before you have the opportunity to check the temperature of the baby's room. Trial and error. Dress your baby in long sleeved pjs, try things your usual way for a night or two and see how it works out! Trust me, the little stinker won't freeze to death. *smiles* Good Luck and congratulations.
